Is that beloved circus of mine Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge fixed? Now, my immediate answer would be “Does it matter?” But I know a lot of people seem to care. Why is the long finger of aspersion being cast on SRGMP, you might ask. There are several theories that stoke suspicion.
I have to say the Star Network guys have done it again and that too without the almighty Ms. Ekta Kapoor. Surely you all must have heard and in case you haven’t then here’s the big news – Super hit dance reality show, Nach Baliye is back. And that too with a bang, one has to agree.
First and foremost, Season 3 of Nach Baliye marks the return of reality queen and my mostest favorite Rakhi Sawant. The entertainment powerhouse will be doing what she does best – item number and (hopefully) annoying the shits out of her fellow contestants. As the show’s rules state, Rakhi would be accompanied by her real-life boyfriend, Abhishek. Though I seriously wonder whether he would be able to attract any attention, especially with Ms. Sawant standing right next to him. From what I have been reading, Rakhi darling has been sweating blood with excessive dance practice and such is her dedication that she even went ahead with modification of her private assets, in order to reduce the bouncing effect.
This is a movie that is subtle in some ways, and still loud in some ways. But overall, it is a great movie, one that I love watching; even if the songs with Sonali somehow seem to be out of place (although Sonali looks as great as over, but so does Aamir, looking young and debonair). Sarfarosh was a movie released in 1999, around the time of the Kargil war, and was a pretty good depiction of the fight of the police against the mafia, gun runners and drug smugglers. The movie was anti-Pakistan, but not obviously though so in the sense of slogans or long speeches being made against the movie.

I entered the movie hall for the screening of Shimit Amin’s Chak De India! with two major apprehensions – Overdose of King Khan’s slurring and the tendency of over-glossing even the tiniest of emotions by the Yash Raj Production house, either of the two could result in my Rs. 190 going down the drain.
But to my surprise (thank you Mr. Amin), I was proved wrong on both the accounts – Chak De India!, to me it felt like watching Jo Jita Wahi Sikandar with a dash of patriotism thrown in, with my Feminist ego being pampered all the through the way. After decades, I hooted….I whistled….I cheered (as if my life depended on it)…I laughed out loud…I cried…I cursed (just in the head) and last but not the least…I felt proud.
