Banoo Main Teri Dulhan on Zee
This is a programme that appears on 8 PM weekdays on Zee. Like most hindi serials, it has stretched too long and should have set a mission of ending when things seemed to be on a clear track, but apparently not. I remember a time on Doordarshan when serials were assigned 13 episodes, and then given extensions if required, but then came some soap operas such as Hum Log and Buniyaad that had open ended stories, meaning that you could stretch the serial for decades if you wanted. 2 serials, Kyunki Saas Bhi Bahu Thi and Kumkum on Star seem to be heading for that goal.
This serial also has the same standard things, a young idealistic sweet girl gets married into a rich family, and then has to suffer for some reason or the other. The plus points about this serial are that 2 newcomers, from the talent hunt Zee Cinestar ki Khoj have been selected for the main parts, the couple who are at the center of the who going-ons.
In a nutshell, the serial is about this illiterate girl from Benaras, Vidya (Divyanka) who is happy when she is getting married into the rich Thakur household as part of an earlier agreement. But her happiness gets disturbed when she realizes that her to-be-husband, Sagar (Sharad Malhotra) is mentally challenged and appears to have the same mental abilities as a child. But she anyhow agrees to this marriage. She is seen to be the ultimate Indian women, dedicated to her husband, respectful to elders, unable to do any trickery, crying a lot when she sees injustices being done to her (and there are an awful lot); in short, not like any Indian girl you may know.
And then starts her journey? What do you do when you are married to somebody who does not know what marriage means, and especially when you husband is influenced by his bitchy sister, Kamya (Kamya Punjabi) who is out to make life miserable for Vidya in all ways.
And there keep on complications happening in the serial, such as the arrival of a girl with a child whom she claims is Sagar’s, who is like a child himself and certainly would not know as to how a child happens. So there is DNA testing, and mis-reporting and so on. Eventually Sagar starts getting attracted to her, but that is another story.
I have to confess, I watch the serial only when I am there in front of the TV at that time, and don’t make any extra effort to watch it. The serial is (a bit) unbelievable and one wonders whether it will ever show the proper human emotions around trying to handle an adult with a child’s mind.

Dear Sir,
Whoever has directed this serial, i must say has no apparent knowledge of human compassions, of Human Rights, Sensitivity, a woman’s dignity/repect. What exactly is the maker of this serial trying to prove to the world? This nut case Sagar has lost his memory about his wife, but remembers each and everyone else in the family - a bunch of crooked “Taporis”. GREAT!!! To what extent are they trying to show that Vidya can endure all the humiliation? I must say that this is an absolute Freak of a movie and needs to be stopped immediately. Will someone do something please?

Duvidha Kumari - That should be the name of Vidya. She is always in dire straits and her sis-in-laws seem to get the better of her and somehow by Bholay Shamboonath’s blessings everything falls in place, but WAIT, only for a few seconds before another drama unfolds followed by more conniving machinations, conspiracy and collusion.
How in the world can a normal breathing human being tolerate so much injustice is beyond me. Obvious situations are convoluted and contorted so beyond the boundaries of common sense, my shoes off err…hats off to the totally inept and nonsensical director and story writer.
Please end Vidya’s misery and ours too. I am afraid I will die because of an overdose of stupidity.
Also, can someone please explain whats with the weird jarring sound and visual effects. More air time lost zooming in and out and shifting from left to right inot a persons face than any actual story telling.

i agree tht the show does become annoying at times, but one thing is for sure tht sagar is a great actor. i used to love his comedic role when he played the childs role, and now playing an adults role hes still good. the show is becoming frustrating though, even if someone is illiterate does not mean they r retarded, but vidya seems like a complete moron somtimes. where do u see women like tht, they have to make her a bit stronger, or maybe thts wht their whole intention is to change vidya drastically. but i do enjoy watchign it.

I guess the idea of Vidya being sent with Ramakant is absolutely nonsensical.Indian women cannot be abused so much.We have to present our Indian cultural values based on a world view of human rights and dignity.Please do not potray such nonsense to the western world. Vidya has a right to live for the truth and I dont want Indian women’s voice to be a voice in the wilderness.

I look forward to romance between Vidya and Sagar. Each soap had their share of romance. Bani and Jai Walia romance. Raji and Veer romance. Solane and Nahar romance. So on. The soap is becoming more interesting as Sagar is more subtle towards Vidya. Also I look forward to seeing Vidya role becoming a little like Bani. Time to Sindoora to get a taste of her medicine.

i think the program is gone stupid because before sagar was mad and now he lost his memory. I think it is not interesting for the viewers to watch because it doesn’t have story in it. My father hates this serial and whenever i watch he tells me to off it. He says how person live a mad person for such a long time even the person is a good person than she wont and tolerate his nonsense and the family nonsense, it is quite impossible, because a person will say enough is enough. Now i also my interest in his serial. Please dont feel bad i am just a suggestion to turn the story that will be quite interesting. If you do that i will start watching the serial again. Thanks.

God I feel it for Vidya and what she has to go through as an uneducated woman. To me, she is more educated than the rest of them to reach Singapore to get Sagar better and back to the Thakur house. Stil I look forward to romance with Vidya and Sagar. Also look forward to Sindoora getting a taste of her own medicine. The show is getting more and more thrilling and exciting. Cannot wait for another day to see another episode. Ohpps have to go. Dulhan is about to start.

Dear Producers, the tape/dvd of Dulhan is sounding a bit scratched. Thanks for creating a very small bit of romance for the characters of Vidya and Sagar. I cannot wait to see Sindoora expression when things turn for the better between Sagar and Vidya. Look forward even if the show created a separation between Sagar and Vidya. Vidya is shown going to school and being educated and returning to the Thakur house as an educated person. Hope not asking for too much. Cannot wait for another episode of the soap. Three soaps have me very relaxed after a very hard day at working on the computer are Dulhan, Maayka and Kasamhse. Hats off to the character of these soaps.

I must admit that the show keeps dragging on and on but I am totally hooked regardless. I have to watch everyday and I don’t miss an episode. Sagar is the cutest thing ever and he has a good heart. It’s not really his fault that his evil bitch of a sister is making his believe things that are not real. Vidya is also such a good person and the poor thing has such a role that she is unable to think for herself. But in the end I think Sindoora is going to get a really good ass whooping which I can’t wait for!!!! I absolutely despise her character. EVIL WITCH!!!!

I like this show very much,only problem i face is that how come you don’t update on ZeeTv on line. My husband who used to hate this show now loves it and my older son who is 14 he is american born but enjoys this show very much. He learned hindi so well that now he talks better than me.

The show keps getting more exciting each timeI watch it. Hurray for Sagar Huvaa that Vidya is finally showing Sindoora What a bitch she is. I must compliment all the characters of this soap. Vidya is finnally becoming brave; Sagar is seeing the beauty of Vidya; Shalu is not allowing her mother to rule her; it is real great acting for the role of Sindoora to be evil all the time. I cannot wait to see what happens to Sindoora when all her wickedness is revealed.

The serial is so good and why should they stop it. people love the serial and if you don’t like it THEN GET LIFE AND GO SOMEWHERE THAT THIS ISN’T PLAYING AND DON’T CUT IT OFF AND MAKE PEOPLE WHO LIKE IT CAN’T WATCH IT. this is actually a very good show because Sharad and Divyanka are getting married in real life.

Vidhya your performance is wonderful. Your innocence attracts the viewers. Sagar and Vidhya makes a good pair. They are really made for each other. Happy to know that they are tying the knot in real life too.
This has attracted the south indian viewers too!!!! Even my parents with out knowing the language wants to watch the serial only for vidhya (the pretty woman). Even the performance by the Bhuvaji is awesome.

hey..!i really did not knw dat sagar and vidya are gona tie knotts….!I hope its not a rumour..Wow dat wud really be the most beautiful,cute,sweet,fantabulous couple dat i wud hav ever seen in my life..Well one thing i wud like 2 say plz stop making those horrible effects at each person repeatedly and constantly from left-to-right & top-to-bottom ven ders any suspense scene,It really gets irritating ven d camera starts moving from here and der for such a long time..and v unwantedly feel like changing the channel coz its impossible to view such head aching scene..,so i wud request u to plz avoid doing dat and if u really want dis soap to remain in our hearts den iam sure u will try to make ur show unique…but not like all silly shows..

I must express thank you to the producers for creating an inspiring Vidya to all uneducated women out there. Where there is a will, there is always a way. May the characters of the soap continue to be an inspiration to all. Thank God, the soap is not like Bold and the Beautiful and Young and the Restless. I am curious to know why people write so negative comments about Dulhan. Perhaps they don’t see the moral of the soap. Every show has a moral even the Bold and the Beautiful. It is for the viewers to be inspired to read the between the lines of the story just like the Ramayana; the Mahabharat and other epic inspiring stories. Happy Divali to all.

I really love this drama as well! Saagar and vidya look amazing together, they have great chemistry! I just think that this drama has been on for too long and the director should sum it up soon because the story seems to be repeating itself anf the plot it giving me soooooo much tension! lol! I love watching these soaps; they have comedy, drama, suspense and thrill. There is one thing that really hurt my heart and soul is that when a member of the family is abused in front of the family, there is no one to stand up to talk for the person. It happens when Sindoora is abusing Vidya; Durga abusing Soni;Jai abusing Bani. It is soo wrong that everyone remains silent and does not do anything.

To the Director,
I loved the serial initially because of Divyanka, but now a days they are making the same dough every weak, every scene. Scenes are too expectable! Divyanka is always made to cry and Sharad scolding her, this kind of scenes are happening very often once Sagar(Sharad) was cured of his illness.
I am a very big fan of Dulhan initially, but now a days the serial tests the viewer’s patience.
Hope its the right time that the director should do something!
The moral of this serial looks like bad people can easily achieve their motives inspite of Shambunath!!
Sagar’s character in believing his sister in spite of Jijaj, vidhya’s or the Police words looks very cinematical!!!
Sharad and Divyanka are very good actors and a very good pair but now a days same kind of expressions and scenes are happening in between both of them or in the entire family.
Anyways my belated New year wishes to the Dulhan Team!! Expecting something different from the team!

Your drama is the world’s most insensible drama. I don’t get it Sindura always gets what she wants but Vidya rarely gets what she wants. It’s a bit unrealistic! All the actors and actresses have done their acting extraordinarily. But the writr, i’m sorry but the writer needs to learn how to write. Instead of Vidya the writer is ill-leterate. Please don’t make dramas if you don’t know how to write because this is drama is being extended way to much.

the serial dulhan we have been watching for the very long time,but to be very frank there should be some positive conclusion of this serial.

I disagree with those whom have negative comments about the show. Everyone is entitled to their views anyway. It is easy to say that the writers should put this or that but ask anyone who is negatively commenting; to write something; it is very difficult to do. I enjoy the show very much. My whole family love the show and look forward to seeing the show. Every show has its moral. You have to read between the lines. I love the way the characters are dressed; even though we live in a modern world, we still maintain the traditional simplicity of Indian wear. Not like the new Indian moviesthey are producing with the women wearing next to nothing and so much so sexual play. Bless.

Not everyone thinks that the show is horriable. most of the people here are against it. Well I LOVE this drama and i love vidya and sagar. I love sharad Malhotra. He is the BEST. if you dont like the drama that doesn’t they should stop making this drama just because you dont like it. for your kind information it is known to be the best drama all over India. if you watch the drama carefully you will know what the theme of this drama for those who dont know the theme. it isn’t that hard to find the theme of this drama. I also disagree with all the people who have nagative comments about this drama. if you dont like it then simply stop watching it. it isn’t that hard to stop watching something.
For thoses who love this drama i read an article that said that Vidya and sagar will reborn. the drama is going to follow the story of om shanti om, but nothing is certain yet. I love this drama and i hope it never ends because sharad malhotra is in it. if the drama ends i wouldn’t be able to see him. i also read that this month and the next are the most interesting part of the drama. oh i just cant wait to see what is going to happen next.

i just wanna say that plz dnt let vidya & sagar die…The story was going on the right path..so suddently wat made u think of their death,,??This is the only serial i watch on zee t.v..
i could not stop my tears since couple of days,,,this is not really done,,plz dnt play with the emotions of the viewers..& dnt turn the story on reincarnation way…
plz let both of them come back as sagar & vidya only as they were before….& thats so rediculous that sindura can do any thing she want …dnt do that sir plz,,,,bring them back,,,if the story turns the other way round,,i m sure half of ur viewers will stop watching this serial….this is my humble request sir.make next episodes in such a way that all of them were tracking sindura …bring them back sir..they both r so genuine couples,,,,I SIMPLY LOVE THEM…

Vidya $Sagar look so good together,Dulhan is my fav seial on tv,the show must never end.The best thing in this seial the romance shown between vidya $sagar.They make the best couple on tv.I do not know whathas happened to the writer $director of the show,how can they make vidya $sagar die like this.This must not be done.They should come back as vidya $sagar only.Pleaseeee donot do like this.

Oh my goodness, I am so shocked that I cannot believe both Vidya and Sagar die in the show. I almost die because my asthma started to act up when I saw how horrible ending of Sagar and Vidya by Sindoora hands. The show told another turn that I did not even dream off. I was hoping every one caught up with Sindoora evil ways and she either die or put to shame by going to gail. Such a sad ending. I need to recuperate. My heartiest congratulations to all the actors and actresses of Dulhan especially Divyanka, Sharad and Kamya. If I were to present the Oscar award to the best actress of a villian role, Kamya will certainly be chosen for the award. I really hope their is a continuation of this soap Dulhan with Divyanka, Sharad, Kamya and the actors and actresses.

I was shocked to see vidya and sagar dying by Sindooras bullet.What does this serial wants to show that evil always wins. I was waiting to see Sindura behind the bars but she has one..Even if u show reincarnation Sindura is free for 50 60 yrs doing bad things. Now punishment wud be too short for her..
Anyways i luv watching Vidyas and sharads romantic scenes on the screen.I am very happy for them getting married because they look the ideal couple.

I don’t think Vidya and Sagar should of died. It was getting so exciting as well! I got so upset when I saw Sindura shoot both of them, I think the program will be ruined now, the only reason I watch it is because of the love between Sagar and Vidya but now that there’s a reincarnation it won’t be the same
There are sooo many questions aswell such as:
What has happened to Bharat?
What’s happened to the Buaji who was in a coma?
Will Amar and Divya’s love be the same as Sagar and Vidyas?
Do they remember their family members and mostly Sindura?
And..
Will Sindura ever get caught?
I really wished they didn’t die

I watch this serial in the Uk so obviously we are behind from India. I can’t beieve what has happened (Saagar and Vidya dying). What is going on??? How can Sindoora get away with all this??? Surely she should hve been punished and shamed in front of the whole family!!!

I LOVE this show so much…… I love that i hate Sindoora sooo much and right now im watching the old episodes to get a better understanding about the show. I was glad that Sagar had gotten his sense back and accepted Vidya as his wife but that didn’t last long (since sindoora killed them). But i can’t wait until ill see the day that Amar and Divya are going to meet and fall for each other and remember their past lives, but i think Amar has a slight sense about it. And i can’t wait to see Rajeev see his son Amar in Benaras. I just can’t wait!!!!!

The story has long been totally unbelievable. The audience should be treated with more respect and taken to be fools. The sensible thing to do would be to bring to an end immediately or at least the story should be given a more realistic stance.

I think Divya looked much prettier as Vidya - and why doesn’t she ever wear jeans, acpris or just plain pants instead of dresses all the time. I am writing from London and girls rarely wear dresses. The producers should have created Divya as a modern girl. Anyway, I love the show though its moving real slow.

Its shocking to see that people actually think killing people and committing crime after crime can be calle viewed as entertainment. For ove r20 decades, Sindura has gotten away - And ofcourse where are Bharat, Aniket, Shaalu, Chinu and Buaji. Amazing what the writers can do to show that how easy it is for crimanals to get away with thier crimes in India. C’mon, don’t underestimate Indian police and detectives.
