Now Shot-Gun Aims At Amitabh Bachchan
I sincerely believe that Mr. Bachchan and his family (including the soon-to-be bahurani) should be given permanent space in our news tabloids and television – considering the magnitude of buzz they generate, even by the sound of their farts (literally speaking). Its sort-off become a fad, be it tinsel town or the political world, say anything about the Bachchans and you get your share of lime-light.
Besides the whole Abh-Aish marriage fiasco (oh! Lord I am so dreading 20th of April and I am sure most Juhu-residents are feeling the same), Amitabh Bachchan has been hitting sore notes with certain desi-celebrities, which our ever-news hungry media has made it a point to over-highlight every now and then.
The Amitabh-Shah Rukh Khan cold war has been a center of many conversations, be it at work, kitty parties, house parties, Bollywood discussions and political processions. So much has the issue being hyped up especially after Shah Rukh’s stint in Kaun Banega Crorepati 3, that any act either of the star indulges in, our media is the first to look for a conflicting connection between the two celebrities – even if that’s not the case, even remotely.
Last month, we witnessed Shah Rukh making Amar Singh the butt of “Darinda†joke at the Filmfare awards show, obliviously Amar Singh responded with equal spite at a press conference the next day. Even though the Bachchans had nothing to do with this, many are of the opinion that Shah Rukh did so cause of his bitterness towards Bachchan Sr., who consider Amar Singh as his younger brother.
Moving on from Shah Rukh, now we have actor turned politician Shatrughan Sinha taking a shot at Amitabh Bachchan over his controversial advertisement promoting Uttar Pradesh and its ruling Samajwadi Party. BJP leader Mr. Sinha accuses the superstar of being selfish and doing such endorsements only for materialistic gains and not loyalty towards his home-state.
“If Bachchan had love for UP, he would have never appeared in such an advertisement. But since he has love for money, he is appearing in such advertisements for his birthplace just like (actor) Aamir Khan does advertisements for Coca-Cola,†he said.
Sinha said Bachchan’s ad for his native place were no different from his commercials for various products. He said even after the Nithari serial killings, Bachchan had said there were few crimes in UP. Whether this was right or wrong could be decided by Bachchan’s “inner soulâ€, Sinha said.
Now whether Mr. Bachchan went about with the Uttar Pradesh publicity, out of greed or obligation towards his closest allies, it surely had very less to do with crime and the state. But what I find really amusing is that Shatrughan Sinha is beating up the media doors with his accusations while he himself is using this issue as a publicity stunt for his political party, just in time for the UP assembly elections. It’s been over a month since the controversial ad has been flashing on our tele-screens, how come Mr. Sinha’s loyalty senses took so long to register Big B’s stinking performance.
The bottom line is Sinha has time and time again done his best to make use of every opportunity to promote his own fundas - be it the Aamir Khan-Gujarat episode, Salman Khan-Aishwarya Rai audio tapes incident and the Sanjay Dutt court case. But nailing the Bachchans just before the big Bollywood wedding and UP elections is as good as hitting two birds with one stone.

Hey Sakshi,
It is soon gonna be twistedindifference.com though that would be to highlight my photography services not my lack of writing skills. I presume you use wordpress so I was wondering if you could shine some light on the technical aspects of using it. I figured I’d move my blog under the dotcom too since I’m paying for all that space anyway. So any helpful tips/suggestions would be really appreciated. Icing on the cake, I promise not to notice any similarities between you and Sanjay Dutt for atleast a month.

ha, am I the only one to smell some ass burning? Shatru should be so lucky as to get some Bachchan style moolah. Not that Bachchan was right in doing that dumb ad but still…

Well, the number of stories about the ‘royal’ Bachchan wedding are starting to get on the nerves.
And, the day Bachchan decided to make an ad about UP being a great state was the day that he made himself an open political target for everybody.

Amrita : Oh…for sure he is jealous of the Big B, in every sense of the word.
Deepti : I think it started way before that…during his association with the Gandhis and then the Yadavs and Singhs.
