Indian television doesn’t seem to stop anywhere! With the intervention of various American shows revamped with a desi touch here comes still another one. Baywatch-desi style is all set to sizzle on our screens this summer. The desi version by Paritosh Painter has been christened Beach O Beach telecasted for Zee.

The show will feature actors like Deepshikha, Delnaz Paul, Nigar Khan, Tom Alter, Paintal, Viju Khote and Vivek Shaw playing important characters in the show. In addition to the above mentioned there will be about six youngsters who own a band called Strings and they aspire to become the best band in the country.

It seems Nigar Khan will play a negative character (yet again), Tom Alter will play the role of a priest and a godfather to Strings, the band. Deepshikha will play a restaurant owner and Delnaz Paul will play a sister to one of the nymphs.

Mumbai Mirror reports:

"It is a television show based on six friends who work in different professions in the mornings and their relationships in the evening. In the evenings, they get together for their music band. The one thing that binds all of the six band members is their love for music and their dream of making it big. The show will be 80 per cent comedy and 20 per cent drama," says co-producer Balwinder Singh Suri.

A hunt for six fresh faces with impressive/sexy bodies is in the process in all major cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Pune. The hurdle faced by the show directors is that young girls are all set to give auditions but as soon as it’s revealed to them that they must don a bikini for the show, most back out at the drop of a hat! Well cannot really blame these young faces, can you!

The show it seems has been inspired from movies like Josh and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander; and famous American series Friends and but of course Baywatch. In the band Strings S stands for Sahil (who will be the lead singer), T stands for Tanya (who will also be the lead singer), R stands for Richa (will play the drums), I stands for Isha (will play the violin), N stands for Natasha (will play the synthesiser), G stands for Goofy (will play the guitar). The last S, in the meanwhile, will remain a cliffhanger for a mystery to be unfolded later in the show. The show will hit the tube in July and will have an 11 pm time slot as this is the first time that the channel is going for a bold plot and look.

Yes this is the very first time Indian television will highlight something this daring and not sure how the Indian audiences will react to it. Zee has been sensible enough to lend the show a late night time slot, thereby avoiding controversies surrounding the ‘under ten’ viewer ship. Not that the kiddies in today’s day and age aren’t exposed to semi nudity by means of movies or video games. Still can’t really predict the Indian junta’s mentality! Also from what I gather this will be a hotch-potch package of the two-three serials that has inspired this show so let’s see what Beach O Beach has to offer.
