The Indian Telly Glitterati
The Sansui Indian Television Awards were telecast tonight. It’s quite surprising that Sony chose to telecast the event a fortnight after it happened. The Awards were hosted by Shekhar Suman, who looked really really old, tired and sallow, and Malaika Arora Khan, who looked good, bad and good again in parts. Parts of the show that is, not her. Moullisha, one of the most popular RJ’s today, too hosted a segment, making her first public appearance.
Sanjeeda of Nimmo fame danced to some recent numbers. And surprisingly, she danced better than any other female performer of the night. Which is a big feat considering she had Malaika Arora Khan, Shweta Salve and Aamna Shariff for competition. Its true, “trained” dancers Malaika Arora Khan, and Shweta Salve both, rubbished all praises ever heaped on them for their moves. Both were pretty graceless and only looked good standing on the stage. While Sanjeeda, did an extraordinary job. The less said about Aamna Sharif’s dancing prowess the better.
Male performers, were all pretty good. Hussain thankfully retained his Nach Baliye charm, so did Rohit Roy, who had brother and wife madly cheering for him. Oh, and he actually stopped between his dance once to open the
last few buttons of the shirt he had forgotten to open backstage. Shekhar Suman sang. For the first time. So did Rahul Vaidya, the first Indian Idol. And I laughed through his performance and missed Amit Sana. He even sang “Where’s The Party Tonight” with Shibani Kashyap of Sajna Aa Bhi Ja fame and managed to ruin both their singing. Rajeev Khandelwal, adorned the stage, wowed the audience, viewers and anything that breathes and rode off the stage. Literally, on a horse. He even stood through a performance with Aamna Sharif where both were (finally!!) seen together, lip-syncing the song and calling out to each other through gestures. Khandelwal should act in movies. That’s his true kingdom.
There was also a Dilip Kumar, Sanchin Tendulkar and KJo act. The obvious act in all award shows, which manages to elicit a few laughs from the audience because of the mannerisms and scratches and gay-isms of the respected trio.
The jury comprised of eminent film celebrities like Madhur Bhandarkar, Sudhir Mishra, Paresh Rawal, acrtress Swaroop Sampat amongst others.
The awards presented seemed to be fairly judged. The Best Actor award was given to Rajeev Khandelwal(Capt. Rajvir) for Left Right Left, Best Actress was given to Bani(Prachi) of Kasamh Se. Best Newcomer was awarded to Pulkit Sharma(Lakshya) of KSKBT. Kamya Punjabi (Sindoora) of Dulhan got the Best Actress in the role of a Vamp Award.
Bigg Boss got the expected Best Reality Show Award, Aaj Tak got the best News Channel Award and Saas, Bahu Aur Saazish got the Best entertainment news show Award.
A lot of actors from Balaji were missing or late because they were “busy shooting” while Ekta Kapoor was happily clapping through the show. One wonders if Ekta Kapoor actually made her actors work while the awards were happening. While she was enjoying through them.
Those intelligent beings who did not see the Awards because you either saw Dor, Fightclub or Zinda on other channels are not only intelligent but lucky too. Good choice.
Set Max, which was supposed to show the Bermuda v/s Bangladesh match today, displayed a scroll bar which read that because of bad weather, the match could not be telecasted. Hence they showed the highlights of the disastrous India v/s Sri Lanka match. One wonder if it was a planned effort to guide viewers towards the awards? Because that’s how I landed up on the SONY from Set Max.

Hello Aamna, mein ne apni zindagi mein buhat ladkyan dekhi hain. lakin aap jesi khoobsurat ladki mein ne aaj tak nahi dekhi. aesa lagta hai k dunya mein pari aagai hai. yeh sach hai k jab k jab log meri yeh comment padhen ge. us waqt sab mujh par hansain ge. aur shaid mujhe pagal ya deewana bhi samjhe. lakin mein kya karu mein dil ke hatho majboor hoon. mein ne jab pehli bar aap ko dekha tha. usi waqt mujhe aap se muhabbat hogai thi. wese to mein drama seriol dekhta hi nahi hoon. lakin khas aap ko dekhne k lie KAHIN TO HOGA aur ANA buhat shoq se dekhta tha. sirf aap ke lie.
aap ka gumnam aashiq

rajiv u r the most foolish person in the world . u need to go to the doctor specially a sicrarist. do u have a brain or not that u r quiting left right left for the reason that u want to join the flims . flims r not ur cup of tea. don’t think that the response u r getting by doing tv serials u r going to get by doing flims . u have a special personality joining flim line u r going to loose it . film industry is like a reth and the actor or astress are only like minute kankars very little can become a stone there . there is an example : the leading actess of kkusum she left it when the serial was a hit one to only join the flims now if we get her in the roads then we won’t identify her also . now the luck is in ur favor so it is my advise or u can say it is the request of all ur fans in this world don’t leave left right left . if any saying of mine hurt u then i am sorry ,if only u read my comment if not then don’t worry i will be sending this message to ur yahoo id’s also. if u want to say something to me then do write to me on my above given id.
myself i am satabdee
