It’s been almost a month to the death of former playboy playmate Anna Nicole Smith but since her demise there hasn’t been a day in these four weeks that the media hasn’t published a story on her. From several people claiming to be the father of her baby girl to the fight over where she should be buried, the tales are endless.

The latest twist in the investigation is that Indian origin physician Dr. Sandeep Kapoor, reportedly prescribed Methadone (a painkiller used to treat drug addiction, especially of heroin) to Smith while she was eight-and-a-half months pregnant last August.

TMZ.com reports :

Kapoor, who practices in Los Angeles, wrote a prescription for methadone on August 25, thirteen days before Anna Nicole gave birth. Celebrity news website TMZ obtained documents which show that prescription RX#2846735 was written for a certain Michelle Chase which was an alias that Smith used. Under California law, it’s illegal to prescribe a controlled substance to a false name.

That same day, Key Pharmacy in the San Fernando Valley filled the prescription and sent it to "Vicky Marshall in the Bahamas. Vickie Marshall is Anna Nicole’s legal name.

TMZ contacted Dr. Kapoor, a 1996 graduate of Boston University School of Medicine, who said, "No comment."

TMZ also contacted Key Pharmacy. The owner said patient privacy laws prevent him from commenting.

Further Kapoor is most disturbed that TMZ put out a video showing him with Smith at a gay pride parade back in 2005. Speculations find the patient/doctor gay club groping to be quite bizarre. The video showed Anna Nicole on Kapoor’s lap.

On searching the Internet TMZ found a description of Dr. Kapoor’s practice in an advertisement for someone who has worked "in an outpatient based setting." In the description of his practice, Dr. Kapoor lists "Entertainment Medicine."

While Kapoor’s friends and associates strongly dispute that he over prescribed drugs or even prescribed drugs without a genuine reason, but if proved guilty in the Smith case, he could have his license revoked. Though he may also go free with a warning and a parole because of his clean record as according to medical website HealthGrades he has no violations or disciplinary action on his medical report.

Well sad but true, the mysterious ways in which these celebrities lives work! Addicted to some drug or the other and to satisfy these addictions would go to any extents thereby returning favors done to them. Where do these responsibilities stop and end?
