To put it simply, DesiDabba is our effort to be your one-stop guide into one of the world's most lucrative television market, The Indian Television Industry. So enjoy and bring on the traffic. More about Desi Dabba
I would say that my 6 weeks vacation was exactly what one would envy (barring the un-healthy experience at the end). Now when I look back at it, it’s a bit of an achievement with the number of cities I walked thru during my holidays.
Some considered my trip to be pretty clustered up but to me it was just perfect. I firmly believe that life is full of shocks and surprises and I experienced both in a span of two days. The shock bit occurred during my flight back home and the unexpected surprise just a day before.
For those who know me well enough can easily vouch on my fascination and obsession with the Entertainment Industry. Be it Hollywood, Bollywood or Tellywood; I love them all. So for me meeting this particular person was like adding a fresh layer of cream on my already delicious Blueberry Cheesecake.
Okay, okay I know the title is not reality but just a figment of my vivacious imagination. However it is very much true that the defamed Big Brother participant Jade Goody is in India for a short 4 days visit. And yes you have guessed it right; it appears to be nothing but a damage-control act.
Goody, who arrived in India on Monday on what she said was a private four-day visit, danced with impoverished beggar children in the slums of New Delhi earlier on Tuesday in what is seen as an attempt to rehabilitate her tarnished image.
“I was an underprivileged child, but nothing like the children that I’ve met today,” she told a hectic news conference at a deluxe hotel in the Indian capital, where organisers put up a cordon around her platform.

Jennifer Aniston : The Hottest of Them All |
Jennifer Aniston played Rachel Green on Friends. After the first season, she replaced Cox in terms of popularity, thanks to a hairstyle that captured the imagination of millions (ok, maybe thousands).
Salons all over the US were flooded with requests for the “Rachel†as stylists scrambled to record the show and take a closer look at Aniston’s hair. Rachel Green was a self-absorbed Cosmopolitan girl working odd jobs, who transformed into a caring, vulnerable character as the show wore on.
In an attempt to enter the entertainment segment, History Channel kicked off its make over stint with “Bollywood Bosses†– a series dedicated to the current top-notch Bollywood directors. Not an original content though apparently History Channel bought the rights of the series from BBC channel. The programme was aired every weeknight from Feb 19 till Feb 24 at 10.00pm.
I had sincere intentions of going thru the entire series but with so much happening in the off-line world sometimes its difficult to go about fulfilling your wishes. But thankfully I was lucky enough to catch its second last installment featuring none other than the I-Know-It-All aka. Mr. Mahesh Bhatt and the man behind the controversial Don remake, Farhan Akhtar.
I look back onto the years I have spent watching Cricket, seldom have I found occasions where a great game of Cricket was not complemented by good Commentary. Cricket has changed and so has the Art of Commentary. Couple of Blemishes (Sidhu’s F-word blast in Bangladesh and dropping the bomb comment by Dean Jones in SriLanka) apart it has been quite honest with its description of the game.
The best days of Cricket Commentary on Television surely came from India’s hopeless outings in late 90’s televised on ESPN-Star (Bhogle, Boycott, Gavaskar, Shastri combine) or with Channel 9’s presentation lead by the Grand Old Man of Cricket commentary Richie Benaud. This World Cup, the Commentary team is surely not a classic, but some things always fall in place for these big occasions.
The expected team which Set Max is going to rollout this March is, John Wright, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Laxman SivaramaKrishnan, Barry Richards, Sanjay Manjrekar, Arun Lal, Donna Symonds, Tony Greig, Geoffrey Boycott and Ian Chappel. (Based on Assumptions, this team similar to one which showed up on Champions Trophy’06 on Set Max) All these along with Charu Sharma and everyone’s favourite Mandy.
You see, from few of them we shouldn’t expect anything much.
